For my birthday we went to Jackson the day before and then to Grand Teton National Park. Sam and I hadn't been to GTNP for a long time and we were having so much fun we thought we would drive all the way through and come back through the Ashton Flag Ranch Road we noticed on the map. It said it is closed winters, but thought it would save us time rather than driving through Yellowstone. So we took our time and stopped at Colter Bay to see Jackson Lake. The boys had fun skipping stones and we were stopped by an Asian group who stopped and stared, took pictures, and were all excited. I guess our family of 3 little boys (twins included) must have been something they hadn't seen before because we totally made their day. Haha! Anyway, we started home on that road and let's just say... don't ever take that road. We drove 45 minutes and only made it 7 miles and still had 30+ miles to go. It was a bumpy dirt road and then we ran into snow. So much snow we couldn't even get through without getting stuck. So... we had to turn around. We got home later than we thought. Oh well, it's a good story!
