On April 4th (35 weeks gestation) we became proud parents of 2 beautiful twin boys!
My water broke at 1:30 that morning and because Max was head up, they were delivered caserean. Max Carter was born at 8:21am and weighed 4 lbs 6 oz and 17 inches long and Benson Lee was born at 8:23am and weighed 4 lbs 2 oz and 17 inches long.
Benson had a little oxygen, but both were doing remarkably well at first. Then they went down hill fast... they both had apnea spells and stopped breathing, they weren't able to maintain their body temperature, they weren't eating and lost a lot of weight in 2 days so they now have gavage tubes down their nose, and they both had to get antibiotics for infection.
They are still in the NICU at EIRMC in Idaho Falls. We are lucky enough to room in at the Hospital and stay with our boys, hopefully not too much longer.
